Hello all!! I have been incubating eggs, and some babies are pipping. One of them is from a blue copper Maran hen who was crossed with my buff orpington rooster. I am particularly curious to find out what the new baby will look like, and what its characteristics (egg laying quality and egg color, temperment, ext) will be like.
Thanks!!

This guy is three weeks old, from a BCM roo and Buff Orpington hen!
Of all the ones that hatched it’s by far the most friendly and outgoing, and loves to be held.
I have more in the incubator!

We'd just be guessing about all those qualities.

Any pics?
I have buff orpington hens. Bought some chicks that were supposed to be BBS Orpingtons to put under a broody as we have no rooster, so eggs were never going to hatch for her.
Turns out I got 5 Marans chicks instead. One of which is a blue cuckoo. Pretty sure I have 2 pullets, 1 cokerel & the other 2 are a toss up rn. Although one is starting to act more like a cockerel.
I will let them grow out and will be choosing primarily based on temperament & behavior (both towards us & the hens), but if that's close will then end up choosing on color & possible combos produced for future chicks. So I'd love to see what your pairing produced!
Thanks in advance & good luck with your new baby!
