Buff Orpington laying white egg

Some are a bit more prone to it than others. I have had hens that did this in spells, and then later they would be fine. You tend to find more irregularities when they first begin laying, when they have molted and start up again, and if the stars and moons line up just right.

I would not worry about it, there is really not anything you can do about it, unless you want to cull her. It might lead to laying problems, but it never has for mine.

My Buff Orpington also lays pinkish, extremely light eggs. She's from a Hatchery, so that certainly explains it. She is such a sweetheart though and I'm grateful she lays as well as she does (I'm sure you feel the same :) ) Best wishes!

I also purchased 30 Buffs from a hatchery. When we received them, they were all yellow. Then most of them started turning the Buff color and three stayed yellow. Now my babies are 20 weeks old. We received three white Orpington and 27 buffs. The white ones are very loving and want you to pick them up. Three buffs want to be held. The white ones are laying a pinkish to white eggs and the Buffs are laying a cream to brown egg. They all just started laying about two weeks ago. They all should be laying all brown in about another month. Loving my Orpington Babies
