I have to question "up to date with routine shots". There are no routine shots for a chicken!

She could be a production Red. Usually, NHs have some black in their hackles, but it's a red chicken with yellow legs, so either one is possible.

I think that little notation comes up on every shelter listing. They mostly deal with dogs/cats, and they are up to date.

It is not a buff orpington or a rhode island red, or at least it doesn't look like mine. It looks like it could be a cross between the two possibly as BO are lighter and RIR are darker.

that is a new hampshire. i have one who is identical to her.

Could be a NH, though mine were positively orange, flaming orange. Hatchery stock varies alot.

She's a New Hampshire Red. The poor thing had her beak cut.
That'd be like cutting off our upper lip. Nasty!
