Buff orpington Rooster?

I'm starting to think it a cockerel. Those feet are huge and very masculine.

By looking at his feet and legs, yes it screams cockerel to me also, No spur nubs at all, legs as smooth and clean as a girls

So far he does ok with the flock, seems to stick with the pullets who believe it or not were hatched the same week so that's kinda neat considering at that time I didn't even know the lady I got him from.. Funny because we culled all the roosters last month from that hatch...Everyone of the seven roosters were crowing by 14 weeks..

So for now the older rooster stays until I see signs that the above cockerel is in danger correct?

Yeah, I'd keep the older roo around until there is serious blood drawing fighting. Some roosters get along pretty well with others and some would never let another male live on their territory.

I have 8 roosters right now from 5 different hatches/sources and they get along peaceably for the most part, they are in the same enclosure/coop.

Yes, I have the older rooster and then his foster son ( got fertile eggs from the gal that gave me the older rooster) They get along peacefully, we had to get rid of the younger roosters hatch mate as the older rooster beat him up pretty bad a few times, found him a good home.. But I have 10 pullets who will start laying within a month and both roosters are showing interest, calling them over for food etc..
Although it has never been my experience I have heard it can sometimes take up to 8 months or longer for a cockerel to mature??

My buff Orpington rooster didn't crow or court hens until he was around 30 weeks. He was the lowest ranking male up until that time, then I got my speckled Sussex rooster who is now lowest ranking. Now he actively mounts hens and crows occasionally, though he is a very laid back, easygoing fella.

Ok, that sounds great, by that time my newest chicks will be a few months from laying so it will work out great! Thank you so much for your help...
