So I have a buff Orpington. She is one of the oldest in the flock and I’m fairly new. 2chicken years old. She is by far the heaviest girl I have. I have RIR. She is twice the size. My question is is she over weight and how do I tell? When I first walk after her and pick her up she heavy breaths out of her mouth. Heavy breaths after she runs.
I have them in a run that is a circle about 50ft in diameter. And I feed them about 1/3lb food a day. I normally don’t feed but 2-3 handfuls of 5 grain. As a treat for 14 chickens. Is she overweight or just afat bottom girl that makes the rockin world go round?!?!
