I bought about 7 Buffs. All were suppose to be hens. All 4 weeks old. I wanted one rooster so I went out and bought one this lady assured me was a rooster. She held it by its neck and it squirmed so she said it was a rooster. It is the larger one now 6 weeks old. I plan on keeping 5 hens and one rooster in my flock. So the reason I ask is, I would like the hens and roosters to grow up together. I would like to get a young rooster as soon as possible. I hate to run out and keep buying chicks just to have to give then away later if I am pretty sure I already have a rooster. I am just not that good to tell what I got till it crows or lays an egg lol

Thanks so much sourland. I will hold off another couple weeks before I run out buying more in hopes of getting a male then. I'll see how that one looks by then.
