Buff Orpingtons or Golden Comets???

I really don’t want a broody hen and I heard that Buff Orps are very likely to go broody. But then again I want a friendly hen and apparently Buff Orps are more friendly.So which one do you think I should get?

You could try getting both and you'll see which ones you like. In some cases you can break hens of being broody.

I have had both and can't think of any complaints for either. My golden comets were the only ones to keep laying during the winter in single digit temps. I know we usually don't have the luxury of being available due to work or other busy things but if you can collect the eggs a couple times a day, your Buff won't have a chance to set. It is probably my fault but my hens lay at all times during the day.

I am new to this awesome site and am trying to decide which chicks to get. Right now I have decided on:

Plymouth Barred Rocks
Rhode Island Reds
Golden Comets
Campines

Any other suggestions are welcome though!!
