they were talking about 2 specifc chicken breeds that love to eat BUGS!

Was thinking to get 1 when I start my coop in september.

CAN"T REMEMEBR WHAT CHICKEN BREED THEY WERE! HELP!!!

I'm pretty sure that ALL chickens are crazy about bugs. I can't think of one breed over another that is more 'buggy' that another. That is the instinct of a chicken.

My Sumatras will follow the ants up a tree, eating them as they go.

not chickens, but guineas are bug eating machines, great on ticks.

I also think all chickens love bugs. My Buff Orps catch huge cicadas and run around the yard with them! And they seem to have drastically reduced the mosquito population in our yard.

I find that my chickens eat allll kinds of bugs, whether the bugs are flying, whether the bugs are on plants, or when the chickens are scratching in stuff.

The guineas really like to pick bugs off any surface. I hardly ever see them scratching in the dirt for bugs. They like to dust in it though

Some say their chickens eat fire ants and others say theirs don't. Could it be a particular breed loves fire ants and others don't? Do guineas eat fire ants? Another inquiring mind.
