Way I figure, I can build my own window sashes and frames out of cheap material. Anyone else ever played around like this?
I'm going to do a test run on a sash out of 2x4s clipped down to 3" wide and planed to 1" thick. Once the main sash frame is built I plan on adding in mullions.
It's just a chicken coop, so no huge need for it to be a golden fit and finish. Just a good seal and a sturdy sash in the end. Planning on out swing windows with eye and hook holding hardware to keep it open and make sure the wind doesn't grab it.
Thoughts?
I'd just go the single pane route but I like the 6 light look. Though I COULD make faux mullions for it that just tack into place on the outside and inside.
