Okay, Im trying to finish up the last few details before I actually start building my coop.

For the framing of the floor, how many 2x6's do I have to use? How do I figure that out, is there a formula or something?

Floor joists should be put on 16 inch centers. 2 foot is fine in a chicken coop though. If you put them on 2 foot centers you'll need 7.

So I'll need the outer 4 and then 5 on the inside correct? With a total of 9 all together on the frame and joists?

16 inch centers are better for floors
24 will be fine for the walls and roof, so dont forget to count those too

That would be correct. Good luck and make sure you post pics.

If you are having a hard time figgering it out, Just go to Home Depot or Lowes, or any other "lumber dealer" you have around where you live. Tell them you want to build a 12x12 coop, and they have a program they type in the dimensions, and if you want 16" centers or 24" centers, it'll spit it out, and tell you EXACTLY how many of what you need. Plywood for flooring / walls / roof / rafters either 2x4 or 2x6, it does it all. Good luck, pics!
