I am new to chickens, just got mine on Friday (sadly, had issues with the batch that was delivered to the store, they lost a lot, and I lost 5, the 5th one passed this afternoon.) The others all seem to be doing well and I will be getting replacement chicks from a new batch coming in Friday.
Can someone please tell me how big the coop and run needs to be for 8 chickens? It will be built inside of my 10x30x6 (width, length, height) dog kennel (which we don't use for the dogs). It will only be using half of that, as I also do wildlife rehab and have a squirrel release cage on the other half of that. So I have approx. 15 feet in legnthx10 feet width to work in. Is that enough?
This is the design/coop we are building (except we will be adding windows to this.)

Any help is appreciated.
These are my babies (don't mind the 'sock', that is a rice buddy from transporting them home from the store).
