Building a coop, and run. UPDATE 10/31/08 FINALLY DONE......

I got the run built the other day. It's 5'x8'. I will have 6 chickens, and they will also have access to the yard during the day. I am starting on the coop tommorow. I will update when the coop is built.

And my first chicks. 3 buff rocks, and 3 Black Australorps.

I know OSB isn't probably the best choice, but it will be painted, so it should be OK. I need to add some trim to hide my poor carpentering skills.

I also need to add a door, and walkway leading to the run. On the front the long rectangular hole on the bottom is going to be the nesting bod made out of 3/4 ply. Thats will get done at a later date. The hole on the right side is going to be a double door so I can clean the coop out. The hole on the front top is going to be a screened window with closable shutters. Hopefully I will be able to finish it by the end of November. Anyhow enjoy the pics, and feel free to give advice. This is my first coop. BTW it is 4x6, and is for 6 chickens.

I forgot to add. It's not in place yet either. I have it moved away from the wall, and the run so I can work on it.
