We're framing our coop today. Could you help me answer some questions?
The coop is about 4x8 feet, by 8 feet high.
How far off the ground should I have my roost(s)?
How far off the ground should I have my nesting boxes? Can I have double-decker nest boxes (one atop the other)? (The reason I'm considering this is space issues.)
Do the roosts want to be higher than the nesting boxes? Does that matter?
How do the chickens access the roost and boxes -- Do they fly up or do I need a series of ramps or some other means of helping the chickens up? How high can they get up without any assistance?
