By not skinning it, I mean you don't have to attach plywood or sheathing on one or both sides of the short bracing walls - though that would further stiffen things up.

I thought about adding plywood to help retain heat in winter but then in summer it would be hotter so not a good idea.
I like the 3 stud idea...thanks.

Looking at that image, can a board run across the top of each doorway? That would attach all the walls to each other, so there are no more loose corners. If the bottoms of the walls are attached to the floor they won't go anywhere, so it's just the top that needs something.

What secures the top of those boards over the doorways? Otherwise, all the twisting in the walls will tend to focus at the corners above the door - just like cracking in a house as it settles will often be first evident over doors and windows in a conventionally framed home.

I could try and explain the physics, poorly, but the short answer is no, not even if you put the whole wall under tension from one end of the pole barn to the other, though it would help.

Do you live near a High School with a technical branch or a Community College. Many of these, especially in the Midwest have ag classes or shop classes that can help you if you buy the materials. Many times they are looking for projects for their students.

Sadly no and we seem to have a shortage of handymen. The man that built my lean-to is not very dependable. Once he gets here, he's good but he tells me he's coming and two weeks later sends me a msg.."oh sorry, I've been busy"
