Building nesting Box for 7-9 Hens

So I am doing an external Box on the coop that will likely have a slanted roof to hopefully prevent water from entering. So my question is, I was going to do 3 boxes, I have a 2 holes diameter size about 12inches each. To build a box around I would have 2 nests in the following dimensions Length 42" Width (away from wall) 14" and Height 18". Is this enough or do I need to make another one, the issue being that with my studs set up I have to space them out and doind so I would be extending almost all the way down the backside.

With that setup, I might do a "communal" nesting box, maybe 3-4 feet long with the two entrances and no separators.

I love communal nesting boxes. I'm have 2 2'x3' side by side. Got to find a way to cover it. Maybe curtains.
