I am going to be building a new duck house soon. My six babies are way too big for their brooder box. I am planning on a house with a attached enclosed run area. I want to keep the water and food in the run. i am also thinking about a pool, but I think they may still be too young to have a swimming area full time. Is there anything that ducks must or must not have in there house? Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

All I can say is prepare for a mess. Ducks are VERY messy. I would say keep the water away from the coop, it will help you keep your mess in your coop down a lot. The ducks will spill the water and some of the food. Good luck, and what breed of ducks do you have?

In the house? depends some do put food, water others don't.. i have both here.. the biggest barn has feed/water but it can accommodate this the smaller coops i avoid it due to mess.

Good venting, predator proof the important stuff for housing... i should also add i have containers for grit/oyster shell(if their girls/ducks)

How old are they? ensure any pool or water container they don't get stuck in... ducks are not the most agile creatures.
