Building our coop next to the shed. Hoping to get it done this weekend. 20200401_165703.jpg

Coop is coming along. We were hoping to be done today but got rained out yesterday bringing and virtual church ran long, plus kids. Almost done. A bit more roofing needs done and some trim along the edges of the hardware cloth. Dad, the harry mountain man in the image, is trying to decide if he wants to put sand in the bottom now, or wait till they destroy all the grass.

A run is coming I the near future as well. Bonus pic of the chicks on their mini roost. So excited to finally get back to the chicken world.

Is that 'ladder', to the right of MM, the roosts?
It's kinda steep.
Nests should be lower than roosts, or they'll be sleeping in or on them.
Chick pic is adorable.

That is the roosts and that is not how we discussed building them. I actually requested removable roost bars and a poop board since I'm likely the one to do most of the mucking out. But dad found those posts in the old shed and decided to use them. And they are paying for it all so other than voice my opinion I'm kinda stuck till it obviously doesnt work.

Ahhhh...Financial/Design compromise. ;)

Well, it is kinda cool, and could always be re-positioned, maybe even horizontally.
