Well, when we bought our chicks at TSC we also bought the $20 brooder that was nothing more then a cardboard box with grow food, feeder, and water, and after 2 days I knew it wasn't going to last long, so I set out today to build a new one for them and designed it so I can also use it for a nesting box when I build the coop next month. I was surprised at how easy it was to do after I seen a few pictures on here. From start to finish it only took me about 6 hrs to build.
I was amazed how happy my babies were once they got in it. They all stated running from one end to the other just a flapping their little wings jumping around...very cute to see with 5-7 day old chicks!!
