Built "The Nursery" yesterday

It's 4'x6' overall with two equal compartments in case I have different hatches or remove divider and let them have the whole space to run around. 4 lag bolts on each end make it easy to take apart and store or move.

Lid to keep cats out and later when I move it to the coop the bigger chickens. Cost me around $40 to build. I think it's better than the $69 stock tank I was going to use.

I love it! The divider will be really handy when they get bigger and need more space. The first time I brooded chicks, I didn't put wire over the top and regretted it because they loved to perch on the edges and poop on the carpet (my husband still hasn't forgiven me

Thanks for all the kind words. It started out simple but the more stuff I found in my shop just improved it. Too much idle time is bad for me. Chicks are due on the 2/21 so I'll be locking down Sunday. JD sign I added after a few beers just poking around shop. You never know what you'll find. All ready saving more RIR pure breeds for next hatch so other side of brooder is spoken for
