Hi I have a problem with a couple of my hens basically bullying my roo. I originally had 5 hens to which I added 4 more birds thinking they were all females, anyway one turned out to be a male but a couple of the original hens will not tolerate him at all. As soon as he comes out there chasing him constantly until he runs back into his safe space.
Do you think the problem will rectify itself with time or is there something I should be doing?

Hi, I'm sorry to hear that your male has been picked on. :hugs

Do the hens that came with him get along with him fine? If so, you can try to separate the male and put him with the hens that don't attack him. You can do that or if you want them all to be together, you can separate the male in a way that they can see him and he can see them but no physical contact, and spray them all (including the male) with a spray bottle containing a mixture of vinegar and water. It masks their scents so that they all smell the same (try not to spray them in the eyes too much, though). It makes them think they're all one covey. You can do this for awhile and eventually you can put them all together and they might get along with the male. No promises, though. :)

Good luck!
