Typing this with my new showgirl in my lap. She's five-ish months old I think. I've been trying to add her to my small flock for a few days but the hens were not being very nice to her so I've been mostly doing the look can't touch thing with her in a small coop in the run. This morning I decided it was time to put her back with the others and let them sort it out. Left the house, went on with my day, a little bit ago found her on the floor of the coop, hunched over. She won't open her eyes and seems to have bruising on her neck. No bleeds just roughed up.

Not wanting to hold her head up but not floppy like her neck is broken.

opens beak a little, it's like she's dreaming.

Does this sound like shock? Should I give fluid? Keep holding her or put in dark quiet room?

She's a little better this morning. Openned her eyes a little bit, one more than the other, Took a wee bit of sugar water when I dipped her beak. Did the drinking beak movement after a dip then seemed to fall back asleep. Did not want any scrambled egg. Gave Nutridrench.

No cuts or anything but definite bruising around her neck. I wonder if she was chased into a corner and bruised herself trying to squeeze through the wire fencing.

I can't check on her again till after work but she's safe and warm.
