Hello Everyone,
My Dominique hen and a few of my others have bumble foot. Does it look like its healing? I've been using corn pads to push it out.
She also has what seems like toenails that grown in wrong? I cut them and should I keep cutting them every other week or so till they come in straight again? It looked like part of her nail was dead.

This is before I treated her bumble foot

And today when I treated her again

These are her toenails before and after I cut them.

Let me know what else I need to do.

Thank you so very much!

Edit: I'm soaking her feet for 15min in warm water.
This what I'm using to treat (nail clippers are for her nails)

The toenail curling could be the result of riboflavin deficiency. She needs supplements or the curling could be permanent. As for the bumblefoot, you're doing the right thing. I would suggest an Epsom salt bath, then removing the plug (brown scab)

Thank you !! I've been giving her warm Epsom salt baths.
I was sick and couldn't treat her feet for while but now I'm better!
I will keep everyone posted!

Just continue to treat the bumblefoot like you have been doing, it looks like it's healing fine.

For the nails, trim them back slowly and keep them relatively short.
Her toe is a bit crooked, it's probably been like that all of her life. Nothing wrong with it, she just needs a trim now and again. Supplements will not correct crooked toes in mature hens.

Your right, sorry for my false info. I'll be more careful on the future 😁

I had a leghorn that had that weird crooked toe thing. I just kept uo on trimming it and she had no problems! In that picture it appears that the bumble foot had come back I'd pick it off again😕. I'm sorry about your hen and will be praying for her:hugs:hugs

Thanks for the reply! Sorry didn't see this till now. I'm treating her again today.

Here's Gaby my wellsummer.
I cleaned her up and did what I had done with my Dominique hen. Hope they all heal.

Thank you! This helps me a lot!
I will keep trimming her nails. And yes that's what I thought that she had the crooked toe her whole life.
Sorry did not see this till right now!!
