Bumblefoot is a staph infection that gets inside the footpad via a cut, splinter and so forth. The infection must be removed as soon as possible. Once the infection reaches the legbone, it quickly spreads throughout the chickens system causing death. No amount of antibiotics can stop it once the staph infection reaches the legbone. When you see a chicken limping, always check the bottom of the feet for the telltail dark in color scab. If there's redness and/or swelling, most likely it's bumblefoot. What is bumble foot? I have never herd of it.
