Well, after a year and a half with no chicken emergencies, one of the girls developed bumble foot. Ruth, your excellent picture tutorial, gave me the confidence I needed to do the surgery. It was way easier than I expected! She is looking good. Still not using the foot properly, but it is has only been a day. Without this incredible site, I would not have known what was wrong, let alone know how to treat the problem! Thank you! Thank you!

You're very welcome - and I love your Avatar.

She'll start using the foot soon, especially if you lightly wrapped it with vetwrap so she can use and flex her toes. My chickens go straight back out to freerange and will be seen way up on the roosts that night, which are rafters in the coop ceiling.

Good job.
