Bumble foot

Our khaki Campbell has recently developed bumble foot and we soaked her in a bath of Epson salt for 15 minutes and the we did all the surgery and got all the stuff out we could. Then we put some neosporin on a piece of gauze and wrapped waterproof bandage around her foot. The the next day we soaked her in the epson salt for 20 minutes and took Another look at her foot before we wrapped it and there was some pus in the wound under the scab so we got as much as we could out and wrapped up the same way we did the last time. Are we doing something wrong?

In most cases of bumblefoot, there is a central "kernel" that needs to be removed. I am currently dealing with bumblefoot in a pekin and have yet to find the kernel. I have been advised to keep soaking in epsom salt and water, as it will help bring the kernel up towards the surface. You should then be able to extract it. However, I am by no means as experienced as some other people on this site.
