Bumblefoot help

We have a hen with a case of bumblefoot. We brought her in and soaked foot, removed scab, and removed some yellow stuff. Cleaned good and used antibiotic cream and wrapped. What I have read is some say do antibiotics, and about half say it won't help. How long does it take swelling to go down on the top of foot???Do I do medicine??? If so what can i give her orally????And does the swelling take awhile to go away or do we need to lance the swelling on the top of foot? Any advice would be helpful .

I have not had a problem with bumblefoot but I subscribed to this thread (below) because I thought it had alot of user information that might come in handy if needed. I hope it helps you.
