Good morning!
im brand spanking new to raising chickens. I have a 3 week old silkie who has a “sore” on her foot. It is not on the pad of the foot but rather on one of the toes. I first noticed it about 5 days ago. It doesn’t seem to have gotten worse but also hasn’t improved. It also doesn’t seem to bother her as she’s not limping and walks around just fine. I have been soaking it twice a day in epsom salt, but not sure it’s doing anything. The lesion is very hard and although it appears to have a “scab” on it , I can’t seem to pick it off. Do you think this is bumblefoot? Should I attempt to cut it open and clean it out or just keep doing what I’m doing since she doesn’t appear to be affected? Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated!
