Bumblefoot removal no kernel help

I have a chicken who I just removed the Bumblefoot scabs on both feet, neither of which had a kernel. They were mild cases, I caught them early, no swelling at all. The tissue under the scab was all healthy pink, no puss or stringy bits. I felt the pad and I felt no hard pieces or anything out of the ordinary. Does this happen, or did I miss it?

It happens. Sometimes when caught early, that is all you find. Sometimes those ones can actually take longer to clear up, however. I would still wrap them and apply whatever ointment you are using every day, until you know they are healing well. I always keep them wrapped until they are completely healed.
