If you pick off a black bumble scab, and after treating with ointment and wrapping the scab is then paler, is that a sign that things are improving?

In your other thread, you mentioned you were picking of bits of the scab. If you only picked off the scab and didn't squeeze out the infection as suggested in the thread, then you may not have gotten it all.
