I know there are a lot of threads about bumblefoot but I cannot get this one to heal. I have a hen that is a little over a year old. She got bumblefoot in both feet. I started soaking and trying to get out a ke.rnel several months ago. There was never a kernel that I could find but always puss like stuff i could squeeze out. I would soak and clean and dress with antibiotic ointment. I then had a friend try for several weeks. We have tried prid and soaking and she finally gave up and gave her back. I eventually brought her in and had a vet cut out the infection. She was on antibiotics for 10 days. This was about 3 weeks ago. I was soaking daily and using silver sulfadiazine cream and now doing every other day. I soak in epsom, irrigate the hole out with betadine and pack with silver cream and dress it. I get new wet puss out every time I soak and then squeeze. I cannot get the holes to heal in. The holes are still pretty large and deep but the openings are not as big. I feel like I am out of things to try. Does anyone have any other great miracle ideas. This has been going on way too long.

I feel your frustration. I will attach to a thread where I explain what I did with a really stubborn case. Some of them don't have a kernal, it's more like ribbons through the foot. Those are a lot harder to get resolved. It's not fast, but I've had really good results with sugardine, which is inexpensive and easily obtained. It's often used on horses, the link also has a video explaining what it is and what it's used for. You will need to treat daily until it starts to heal, and it may take a while.
See post #8 here, I think it covers it pretty well:

Than you I have added sugar dine to the process 2 days ago so I will see if it does the trick. Thank you so much
