Okay, so i recently went out to feed my chickens, and i noticed one of them had a huge swollen bump on the top of its foot. It looks like it's full of liquid. I know how to deal with the scab under her pad, but what do i do with the swollen bump? Do i use a disinfected needle to pop it?

This is it.

Oh my, that's quite large. I would treat the lesion on the bottom of the foot first. I have had bumblefoot that tunneled through the foot and so there was a opening on both sides. If you soak the foot, remove the lesion on the bottom and flush it out well, then see if the fluid on the top drains through it then. If it does you will really need to flush it out well. If it does not, or you are not able to flush it well, then I personally would lance that, flush it out from the top also, and then fill it with ointment as well. Then wrap the foot well as usual making sure that area is protected as well.

Thank you I will try this!
