We want to get bunnies for our girls and we wanted to keep them in a hutch and yard in our backyard. We live up against woods and have recently discovered we have bears in the woods. We ruled out keeping chickens (an obvious attractor of bears), but wonder if bears consider bunnies food. We don't have dogs or a tall fence. Are bunnies a good idea? We thought about keeping them inside, but my daughter is allergic to cats and dogs and we don't know if bunny dander would have the same effect. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

As much as I appreciate the wonders of bears (i.e., the good things), I think this might be too much the risk. If their natural food supply is ample they may not bother them, but it's too unpredictable.....and the bunnies would be defenseless in their hutch, unless it was bear-proof, something of an undertaking...
