so, i got 15 rhode island red chicks from tractors supply, but i wanted to show the barred rocks in 4H, so i got 3 barred rocks (and one australorp), but they did not get along with the reds and we only built one coop. however, i had a bunny hutch in the garage, so i put them in it (when they were old enough to leave the tub) and they fit well and they are also now outside in a 5X10 run with the hutch inside the run.
my problem is, they are quickly out growing the hutch and they are almost old enough to lay eggs. they are only inside the coop at night (there is tarps over the coop side of the run so they can stay out when it rains). i am trying to decide if i should buy another coop that will take up alot of run space, or if i should just put 2 nesting boxes on the back of the coop to help save space. any thoughts? also, should i talk my dad into giving me more run space because his rhode islands are taking up 3/4 of the 10X20 and i cant let them in together because they dont get along and one of them (the one on the left in the last pic) has a problem with her feet and i dont want her in with the rooster.
