thanks, seems pretty weird she's limping now was gasping for air
well i guess after typing that, that it is mating

Yes that is mating. She will gasp for air, because he would have squished her air sac in the process. Mine always scream during the mating, and then gasp a bit. They are fine after a few minutes.

If she is limping, I would check her over to make sure he didn't wound her. We had a bourbon red tom last year ripped the leg open on our jenny. She limped for quite a bit. We ended up separating them so she could heal.

I 've read that Toms can be pretty rough on the hens but I've never had turkeys- Hopefully somebody will jump in and give you some good advice!!

Yep they are mating. he will stand on her till they get situated to do the duty, and then he will wave his tail down while she waves her tail the opposite side and he will do the duty. IF SHE OR HE IS NOT READY OR THEIR IS DISTRACTIONS THIS PROCESS MIGHT TAKE A LITTLE LONGER.

IF HE IS HURTING HER BY RIPPING HER BACK OPEN YOU MIGHT NEED TO BUY MATING SADDLES FOR THE HENS.
