I'm not quite sure who will be "taking care" of them for me, but it looks like I'm going to go ahead and give this a shot. A friend of my parents used to do this when he was younger, and might be willing to teach my Dad. Hoping to go that route as it would be free. If not, I think I've found an Amish community to ask around. Now for the stores to keep chicks in for more than 5 hours before selling out.

The plan is to raise them for a few weeks myself, in my house. When they are big enough to stay out they will go to my Dads house until they're ready to go. I live in the city and I doubt my neighbors would look kindly on so many chickens in the back yard, since I'm already raising 5 layers for this year LOL
