Button Quail in California

Hi everyone,

I am entertaining the idea of having a few button quail as indoor pets. Not too many of them though. Is this ok in the state of California? Also, if I wanted to sell any extras locally or even shipping eggs do I need a license to do so? It would be great if they could pay for themselves over time so to speak if anyone has any info or tips that would be appreciated!

I live in N.C. and I didn’t have to have a license.Also where I am you have to be NPIP certified to ship eggs.Since you’re in California I would recommend keeping button quail outside.Are you in Northern or Southern California?

Button quail are not native to California and are often sold as pets here. I don' t know about shipping eggs but selling a few quail locally shouldn't be a problem
