button quail incubating

i have incubated chicken ok , but a friend gave me some button quail eggs and both times they did not hatch. temp was 37.7 and humidity was 40 the raised after the 14 days to over 60. these small eggs cant be candled as they are all dark and after the end quite a few floated quite a bit when tested in water. i will have to break them open to see inside

Did the friend know if they were fertile?

has is supposed to have one male and two female , is there an easy way to confirm. i saw an interesting article on how to do it with chickens and how you hold them in certain positions and they hold themselves differently depending on sex. not sure if this works with quail

If you post pictures of the quail would be helpful to identifying their genders.
