I'm pretty sure that's what he is doing, jumping up and grabbing her neck and she squawks like she is dying. He only goes after the one chick though. Normal behaviour or should I be thinking he is the right size to cook like a small Cornish hen.
I can't understand why my Roos are not crowing...I soo want to hear crowing I love the sound.

thats the same thing with me my ee roo is trying to mount my silkie and game bantam but i don't know if i should split them up to different areas or just leave them .. all my hens have mates but some don't help each other ... the ee roo is not crowing yet to but he tried with my mill fleur but my mill fleur roo bit the ee roo on the head to make him stop but i don't know what u should do and the same thing with my 6 month old roo he keeps mounting my older hurt hen she has a bad leg and she can't hold her self up she falls to the ground and just lays there for like 1-5 mins and i don't know about that .. i never had younger birds just adults

i have 9 roos lol but i am getting rid of about 4 and i have 16 hens and getting 3 more hens .. its just that ee roo and my other ee roo i am getting rid of my big ee roo though

HEY! There is a thread on here somewhere of someone who is very interested in trying to create a breed that is naturally pre-disposed toward being quieter. If you can find it - you should contact them. If your roo really does turn out to be a naturally quiet fellow, maybe they will want to buy several sets of eggs from you......

Will do, this guy is soo quite, all the other cluck this guy seldom makes a sound even when he is chest bumping. But puberty may turn him into a screaming teenageer who knows lol

My bantam roos were always louder and more vocal than the standard sized roos.
