Also a couple questions, what are the best goat breeds for a backyard herd or group? And do goats pair well with chickens and other poultry?

breed depends are your space and needs. Do you want goats for milk or meat?

Goats usually do good in the same yard or pasture, but i would give them different sleeping quarters.

I love goats!
