My wife and I got our first batch of chicks about a year ago. We’ve had between 3 and 6 at a time. We currently have barred rock, buff orpington, ameraucana, and cuckoo maran. We live near the city and let them free range our fenced yard during the day, locking them in a 2-story 4x6 coop at night. We love having fresh, colorful eggs every day, and they’re fun to watch. I’ve used this site from the beginning but finally made an account to ask for urgent advice.
