Bye bye Birdies...

I wish our feed costs were $100. We're looking @ $700 for all animals on our place.

I'm streamlining what I'm going to be breeding so our numbers are going to be cut way back.

Feed costs are continuing to climb and its crazy!!

That's okay. In our house, 15 *is* an even number because it is divisible by five. See, in a household of five, it's very important that pie slices, pizza pieces, chocolates, candies, etc. all be "evenly" divided among us, so for some reason my children now ask, "Is that an even number?" to mean "Is it divisible by 5?" So, you see, 15 really is an even number!

And it means, "Three ducks per person, or five per child (because 15 is also "even by" 3), so we don't have to fight over who gets to name the last one."

when gas goes up so does everything else. Too bad theres only a small percentage of the country working to support all the higher prices, I keep thinking about those who have lost everything and don't know how there going to feed themselves and then their livestock, pets on top of that. I wish I was closer Bleenie I would help by taking some I could never eat my ducks, now extra roos thats a different story. Hope you can sort it all out. That pic is really pretty.

I feel for you, I know how hard it is to feed all these animals. Its coste me $200 ALONE...a month in hay for the horses, then ontop of that I have horse feed, goat feed, Dog and Cat feed and Duck feed. We manage, but I know there are alot of people out there who are alot worce ff than us. Im just glad we arent in the drought we had for 2 years. I was paying $80 per round bale and I use 5 a month!!

My ducks have really put a dent in our compost. Won't have much for the garden this spring, they get most of it!

Go to your local grocery and ask at the produce area for their "scraps". Still edible for ducks and free!
