Cackle Ducklings

Has anyone had success with Cackles Ducklings? I've been reading a lot of bad/disappointing reviews for their chicks and wonder if they do better with ducks? I just placed an order and I'm a little nervous.

Do they add extra ducklings, like they do for chicks?

Also has anyone ordered the rare surplus ducks? What breeds did you get? Did you get all one breed or multiple?

I ordered a female Cayuga, 2 SR Anconas, 5 SR Surplus Ducks, and 7 SR Rare Surplus Ducks.

Ive bought chicks from cackle on several occassions and they gave me lots of extras, straight runs had a lot of females, and all the chicks thrived into grown adults and some were very high quality. I mainly hear great things about cackle

I've never heard any negative about cackle, from people who know what they're doing, anyway... they have some the best poultry in the business. I know a lot of people like Metzer too.

I don't know about cackle, but I know a lot of companies order ducks from metzer. So even if you thought you were getting them from one company, they shipped from metzer. I just don't remember which companies, just remember several people being really bummed last year when they found out.

Oh that's good to hear! I bought from Metzer years ago and loved the quality and customer service I received. I've never bought from Cackle so I think I'm getting nervous haha.

I've order ducklings from Murray McMurray Hatchery before they are a little more expensive but they have amazing customer service I would not recommend shipping in Winter though as we live in Colorado and the first time we got our ducklings only three of them survived out of 11 but they happily sent us more and they even gave us extras! they have been great ducklings so far, and I think I will continue ordering them from them again.
We also ordered 30 chicks from them and they will be arriving in May so we will see how that goes!

How do you find out which companies order from Metzer? Or where Cackle gets their ducklings?

You would probably need to contact customer support and ask if they hatch their own ducks or buy them through another company.
