I raise game chickens and am thinking about getting a whole new flock this spring so I am thinking about ordering st. run standard old english gamefowl from Cackle Hatchey and some standard american game hatching eggs from Ebay. If anyone has experienced either one can u tell me how they came in or show me how they are now? If its bad do u have any better recommendations?

I will give you some good advice from my experiences with buying shipped eggs. And i have bought many, and off of ebay. Don't waste your time and money. The hatching rate on shipped eggs is VERY poor.

That's not necessarily true. I have bought eggs off Ebay and I sell them all the time. It all depends on how the eggs were handled and packaged. I have also bought eggs from hatcheries and haven't had any problems. When buying off Ebay, check the feedback before you bid.

I got my chicks from Cackle and was very happy with them. I had a few deaths in shipping and I called them and there was no issue on getting my money back. Very friendly and the birds I got were good quality.
I even had a pullet suprise. I had ordered their fry pan special of extra roos for the freezer and ended up with two extra girls.

I got mine from Cackle. All of mine arrived alive and thrived.

Ordered 10 Black Ausralorp pullets - received 10 pullets

Ordered 5 Delaware pullets - Received 4 pullets and 1 rooster

Ordered 6 straight run Speckled Sussex - Received 4 roosters and 2 pullets

Ordered 6 straight run Orpingtons - Received 7 pullets. The packing peanut was a pullet.

I have orderd from Cackel and they are very good..
The last order I placed was for
5 Black Giants pullets- All were pullets
5 Gold Laced Wyandotte pullets- All were pullets
5 Light brahmas pullets- All were pullets but 1 rooster
1 Hatchery Surprise for $40.00 (no choice of Breed, Sex or quantity)
In the Hatchery Surprise some of the breeds where-
white cap polish
OEGB's
Phoenix's
new hampshire hens
new hampshire roosters
RIR's
black cochin
white cochin
silver laced cochin
leghorns
black turkey
rouen ducks
brahmas
Wyandotte
geese
Most all breeds sent were in pairs ( male - female ) The Hatchery Surprise was a good deal when you figure I received around 70 chicks for 40.00 and I got ducks, turkeys, geese, and chickens most all in pairs...

I had shoulder surgery this year couldn't do much, so I hatched eggs.
I bought from Ebay and I was getting 90% hatch rate. My bator was full for
6 months. I missed calculated on the last hatch and thought they weren't fertile.
Unplugged my bator put it in the garage, didn't throw the eggs away. Then I forgot about it.
About 2 weeks I had 7 hatch. Heard the pippin as I was getting feed for the flock.
Mindboggling.

It all depends on the Seller. I have had great luck and I've hatched alot of chicks.
I think it's soooo much fun. It's like homemade versus store bought. LOL

I had a great hatch on some ebay eggs. The problem was that there was a claim of
several hatches, and I was sent some un-proven pullet eggs. Well now I have 'proven'
them, but..... 4 that hatched are in fact Black Sex Links, the others...
anyones guess.

This seller has excellent feedback, as she should, on shipping.
Even I left good feedback. I still feel a bit duped.

My point is, you never know what you will get.

Ask around on this board. Someone is bound to have what you are looking for.
