Cage Free Goes Mainstream? NY Times

Interesting find.
I will be glad when my hens start laying so I personally don't have to rely on big farm eggs. Whether they are caged or uncaged. None of them look terribly happy to me.
 
Those poor chickens! They're on the right track, hopefully it will get better, but it's hard when there is millions of people that use eggs. I wish there was a better way. But it's a start.
 
That's what I thought, too -- in fact, it might be more stressfull for the chickens since they have to fight for food and probably peck on each other.

Seems like the only way to be sure your chickens are happy is to know your farm -- or grow your own, of course.
 
Maybe that's why we all have these chickens in our backyards, this is a trend that's getting very popular, as you can see just by this site. I bet things REALLY change in a few years. Hopefully sooner.

I just want to go to that place and grab a few chickens and bring em home!
