Caged Chickens

Be sure to include sufficieng calcium;

Calcium has other structural roles in claws, beaks and feathers so calcium deficiency can affect these things too.

The girls are refusing to come out of the coop. The only time they come out is when I scoot them out. Then they drink a ton of water, like they've never seen it before or just realized where it was.
Anyway, I don't think it's good for them to stay in the coop so I've locked them out of it. Will that stress them out too much to stay out all night? All the other girls stay out in the run all night and sleep under the stars so they won't be alone. Roo stays out with the girls too.
Oh, I tried cat food tonight. Nobody will eat a bite of it. They try it then spit it out. Did I get the wrong kind?

Chickens WANT to be in the coop at night... it's where they sleep and where they are best protected from notcurnal predators like raccoons and possum. Are they enclosed by any kind of fence?

Yes, they're in a run that is enclosed by 6' fencing.
I'm fine with them in the coop at night normally, but they don't come out in the morning. Where none of the other girls go in at night I thought it might be ok to keep the new girls out at night too.
