Caging?

Would a regular ole 8' by 3' chicken wire chicken tractor work for a pair of pheasants? Can they be' kept in trios? By "they", I mean Reeves, Golden, Etc.

My pens are 6'x12'x8' and they house trios just fine.

My goldens have indoor pens (MI--in the teens right now) that are 6X4 (basically for sleeping/nesting) and then they have their outdoor runs--6x12--that they can go out in all day long.

I do have one square pen 8x8 that I'm re-using another project and I've noticed that the pheasants don't like this pen as much--they like the long, narrow pens better. I've tried switching groups in this pen and have gotten the same result--they spend most of the day just sitting on their perches or inside the barn. (Compared to the long pens where the birds are running around, calling, flying up and off the perches, being nutty....) Guess I gotta build a new pen in the spring.
