Hello! I am a fairly new small scale backyard chicken farmer. My hens started laying eggs similar to this on a regular basis. Can you tell by this picture what is going on? Would love some

You might look at pimples or sandpaper eggs in this. I find it more common that they say and generally just put it down to a defect in the shell gland if it is consistent like yours.

While I would not hatch the egg since it might be genetic but it will not hurt the egg if you are eating them.
