Hi. Whilst venturing out I came across tubs of calciworms. It says they are mealworms with more calcium. Can anyone tell me if they are safe to feed to ducks please? Xxx

Do they actually say that? From my understanding calci worms are Black Soldier fly larvae, whereas mealworms are from darkling beetles. They are similar, but calci worms are richer in calcium.Hi. Possibly not. It may have said more calcium than mealworms. I apologise I should have taken more notice.Do they actually say that? From my understanding calci worms are Black Soldier fly larvae, whereas mealworms are from darkling beetles. They are similar, but calci worms are richer in calcium.
Anyway, yes they are calcium rich treat and my ducks love them! They're perfectly safe but feed in moderation as with any treat. My girls like them best when I soak the dried calci worms in water for 30 minutes before feeding, they are easier to eat when pre soaked and served in water.
Hope this helps!

This may help give you an idea of how they compare? The info on what you bought probably simplified it meaning similar nutrition to mealworms, except higher calcium.
You’re welcome chick! xxThank you xxx
