California quail male with cortunix females?

Hi I have a single. California quail male and am looking for females for him. I ve been unable to find any California quail hens nearby, only other types of quails. Could I put in some coturnix hens or will he attack them? He lives in a massive aviary with pigeons and a partridge and is quite clearly the boss but everyone gets on. Advice appreciated! Thanks
