California Valley Quail during mating season

Does anyone keep a group of valley quail? If so, how do you manage mating season?

Does anyone keep a group of valley quail? If so, how do you manage mating season?

I keep mine in 300 sq. ft. pens. I have 5 males to 20 - 25 females per pen. Pens have lots of cover and hiding places to help with aggression during breeding season. The males will sometimes get in arguments but not to the point of a deadly battle.

Thanks! Are your females not aggressive toward each other? My males and females each appear to gang up on the lowest ranking members of their own sex.

That has happened on occasion, I just removed the aggressive bird.
